Cameroon Digital
About

From the classroom to a community

Cameroon Digital grew out of a simple observation: give students the right habits early, and they keep building on them for life.

Where it started

Cameroon Digital was created by the founder of the Alma Maters Club, as a natural next step for students who've come through the Club's College Curriculum. It's a place for them to keep growing — and for Cameroon's wider digital community to grow alongside them.

The Alma Maters Club

The Alma Maters Club is bridging the digital divide in Cameroon. Through partnerships with schools, it equips students with the ICT skills they need to succeed in a digital world — through the College Curriculum, its core program of study.

Frequent practice, not a holiday crash course

Most ICT training happens over the holidays, cramming as much as possible into a short window — often on topics students have little interest in or use for day to day. Technical competence isn't a novelty anymore; it's as essential as reading, writing, and numeracy. So the Club runs sessions regularly throughout the year, giving students the repetition they need to stay familiar with the material and build real confidence as they go deeper.

Interest-led, not one-size-fits-all

The topics students explore are led by their own interests, with an emphasis on things they can put to use right away. That works with students' intrinsic motivation and keeps them practising even without anyone watching over them.

Learning independently, together

Lessons are delivered remotely through the Club's online learning platform — teaching students to learn independently and work remotely, skills that mirror the realities of the modern working world. But no one goes through this alone: the Club runs regular workshops and seminars with guest speakers — industry professionals from similar backgrounds — who help students understand what it really takes to work in the digital world.

It's easy to assume ICT skills only matter for certain careers. In truth, there are very few professions left that don't call for some digital competence.

Where Cameroon Digital comes in

Cameroon Digital is the next step for students who've completed the College Curriculum — and for anyone else in Cameroon's wider digital community. It's a place to keep the same habits going: regular practice, real opportunities, and a community that keeps you accountable, through training workshops, job opportunities, and competitions.
